Day 117

You are the one I've been waiting for,
The one that opened so many doors,
To places in my heart I never knew I had,
Emitting happy emotions, leaving behind the sad.

I look forward to spending these early years,
Waking up, opening my eyes, seeing you appear.
Moving in to night fueled by passionate touches,
Holding tight in each other's clutches.

The next steps in this crazy life,
Will be as a loving husband and wife.
We'll raise honest and caring kids, maybe three,
I hope they have your brain and don't look like me.

Raising children will take its toll on our body and mind,
Working non-stop, supporting them through life's grind.
As we send them off to college, we'll be alone again,
Looking back on the good times, saying remember when?

Retirement will be the next journey we take.
Spending the money we worked so hard to make.
Grand kids will keep us young, we'll travel here and there,
Watch the changes come to bodies and faces, silvery gray hair.

When we begin to fall old and frail and weak,
You're the one I want to help me speak.
By then you'll know the words I want to choose,
As my thoughts I begin to loose.
